A friend has a theory that Tuesdays are worse than Mondays.
Mondays you expect to be kind of Monday-ish.
But then Tuesdays just sort of sneak up on you!
With that in mind, I thought today would be a good day
to do a little giveaway with the lovely people at YOKE.
I first spied their work at the DCA in Dundee and have been
coveting their We Can Move Mountains print ever since.
Their work start life as beautiful papercuts
before being turned into gorgeous screen prints.
So for the giveaway, they’re offering you
a screen print of your choice.
{How cool is that? Rather I say!}
All you have to do is:
leave a comment here with your best joke
(and say what your fav YOKE print is).
******
To start us off, here’s my favourite ever joke:
I went to a zoo the other day.
There was only a dog there…
It was a shitzu.
(Boom, boom!)
Ahem… hopefully you’ve not all died of laughter!
You have a whole week to enter then Mark & Zoe
of YOKE will pick who makes the comment
that makes them smile the most.
Let us know if you tweet/blog about the giveaway too.
Not that the judges could be swayed of course!
Good luck! And happy Tuesday!
Ooooooh I saw these prints in a shop in Edinburgh and LOVE ‘blame it on the weatherman’ (basically because in our house we talk back to Carol on the BBC and compliment her on her outfits) and I thought of it on Saturday night when we got stuck in the London snow and couldn’t get home.
Oh what an idiot I am – I didn’t put my favourite joke in! Moron. Even though it’s been everywhere I like ‘my girlfriend left me because I touch pasta too much… now I’m feeling cannelloni.’
Why did the shrip leave the disco?
Because he pulled a mussel!
Hardy-ha!
P.s I love the ‘What a lovely pair’ screen print. Just like the shrimp and the mussel.
I’ve just got a new job helping a one armed typist with her capital letters.
Its shift work.
Sorry I know it’s terrible, but good… some might even say terribly good! Bosh Bash Bish is my favourite Yoke print – they’re all gorgeous though!
What did the fisherman say to the card magician?
Pick a cod, any cod!
Yoke have fabulous products by my favourite is definitely the ‘hello sunshine’ print.
why does the mushroom go to the party?
because he is a funghi.
I like almost every single one of the prints, but my favourite has to be the one saying “we can move mountains”.
Why do the French only have one egg for breakfast?
Because in France one egg is un oeuf
(read it out!)
Love the We Can Move Mountains print!
Actually laughed aloud. Brilliant.
Q. What wobbles when it flies?
A. A jellycopter!
Urm…..A joke. Ok…
Q. Why did the monkey get lost?
A. Cos jungle is massif!
Its funnier if you say the punch line like a rude bwoy!
Well I’m having a dreary Tuesday indeed. I have some winter sniffles. But I am currently redecorating my living room and one of these beautiful prints would almost certainly cheer me up. I am completely torn and can not possibly choose between ‘blame it on the weatherman’ and ‘lovely pair’. Well I’ve always been fond of tits so lets go with ‘lovely pair’.
I met a Dutch boy with inflatable shoes last week, phoned him up to arrange a date but unfortunately he’d popped his clogs. Hardy haha.
I love the ‘blame it on the weatherman print’
Two fish in a tank.
One says to the other “How do you drive this thing??”
Teehee, always makes me chuckle mainly because I imagine little goldfish wearing army helmets!
Blame it on the weatherman is my favourite 😀
Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly. But when they lit a fire in the craft, it sank, proving once and for all that you can’t have your kayak and heat it.
The ‘lovely pair’ print is my favourite… firstly because we could hang it behind the top table, which is called ‘lovebirds’ at our wedding in May and secondly because who doesn’t love a boobtastic reference.
I bought this one on a birthday card for my Dad last week because it made me chuckle (and had a picture of an angry welsh cheese on it):
How do you approach an angry Welsh Cheese?
Caerphilly!
Hhehehehehee
I like the what a lovely pair print best 🙂
Actually, my favourite silly joke (apart from the one from the Good Life about the Ooh-Aah bird laying square eggs) is a poem by Spike Milligan:
There are holes in the sky,
Where the rain gets in,
But they’re not very large,
Which is why rain is thin.
Genius! As is the Lovely Pair print. Childish, moi?
OOO nice giveaway! My favourite print is the Hello Sunshine…yummy sunny yellow!
Joke – oh not good at jokes….
What noise does a cat make whilst in a car…..
Meooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
obviously works better when saying it!) Joke from Rufus age 4.

Why don’t you see penguins in Britain?
Because they’re afraid of Wales!! 😀
I’m loving the blame it on the weatherman one, makes me think of that bewitched song for yonder years lol. You know i’ll be singing that alllll day now 😀
My favourite joke is…
‘What’s brown and sticky?’
‘A stick’
Simple but effective, right? Haha! Love the We Can Move Mountains print
Ok ready for my awful {but favourite} joke:
Why did the mexican push his wife over the cliff?
Tequila
Get it…I am laughing,,,ues I’m that sad.
And it has to be hello sunshine–that would me make me smile every day!
Ooo, the lovely pair one would be perfect to have at my wedding! Hmmm…jokes…how do you turn a duck into a soul singer? Put him in the microwave til he’s Bill Withers (say it – and sort of slur your words together – it makes sense then!). xxx
What do you call a bear with no clothes on?
A bare.
Love all of them, but I especially love the Odd Ball print – and it would be perfect for my own odd ball.
x
There’s a sausage and an egg in a frying pan and the egg says to the sausage
” Wow, it’s really hot in here”
and the sausage says
“Oh my GOD, a talking egg!”
Forgive me! My favourite print is ‘Blame it on the weatherman’ but they are all wonderful! 🙂
How do you tell the difference between an x chromosome and a y chromosome?
You pull it’s gene’s down!
I love the Odd Ball print. It’s my favourite.
Oh I love the “we can move mountains” print. What a gorgeous site.
My favourite joke is cheese-related…
What cheese do you use to lure a bear?
Camembert! (say this out loud!). x
What do you call sex in a kayak?
….
Canoedling.
Clearly, kayaks are a rich source of material for terrible jokes.
In the absence of a canoe sex print (sigh), I would love to give the What a Lovely Pair print to my dear friends who just got engaged.
IF I SAID I DIDN’T KNOW ANY CAT PUNS I’D BE LION.
😉
My favourite print is the I can move mountains one. So nice!!
Tuesday’s is def worst, that’s why they call it ‘Suicide Tuesday’

What lies on it’s back, 100 feet in the air?
A dead centipede.
maahaha. awful. :/

xx

Fred Bear
My favourite!
Oh, and I love the ‘lovely pair’ print – although it is a difficult decision. ‘Bish Bash Bosh’ is a close second!
Hi,
What do you call a donkey with three legs?
A wonky!
I love the “We can move mountains” print the best.
I’m just off to check out the rest of the stuff on your website.
Carolyn x
Why shouldn’t you shave a cat?
…
Because 8/10 prefer whiskas!
The “We Can Move Mountains” is very lovely!
Two peanuts walk into a bar…
One was a salted!
I love all the prints – but I think the ‘We can move mountains’ is my fave.
Loving some of these jokes – will have to try and remember them!
Q: What noise does an extractor fan make?
A: I don’t like tractors anymore
It’s how you tell ’em!
I’m SO indecisive by nature, especially with such lovely prints to choose between… but I’m gonna go with ‘I Blame It On The Weatherman… cos I know exactly where I’d hang it in my kitchen…
What do you give a dog with a fever?
Mustard (It’s good in a hot dog).
I like ‘Bish Bash Bosh’ and ‘We can move mountains’. I like them ALL!
Two monkeys are in the bath. One says ‘ooh ooh aah aah’. The other says ‘put a bit of cold in then!’
Boom boom. Not good at jokes. Yoke are excellent at prints though! Almost too hard to choose, but I think Hello Sunshine just tops it, but only because I already have another print which says ‘every cloud has a silver lining’!
What does a nosy pepper do?
Gets jalapeño business!
And now blue Tuesdays will be no more. The polar bear laser cut is adorable but the ‘What a lovely pair” print would be perfect for my man, who is also a Robin
🙂
Two fish in a tank.
One says to the other “How do we drive this thing?”
BAM!
I heart the “what a lovely pair” print…brilliant.
I adore these prints! I love the move mountains one, but if I ever won I’d love the
polar bear one for my best fiend Debs, who is
obsessed

What te cheese say when he looked in the
mirror?
Halloumi!
xx
Love this joke. Hate sushi.
It says in this book that Eskimos eat raw fish and blubber.
I’m not surprised. You’d blubber, too, if you had to eat raw fish.
The prints are all brilliant but I think ‘We Can Move Mountains’ is my favourite. Pretty inspiring on a Tuesday Bluesday x
Hi Zoe, I am carrying on the funghi theme here….
Why should you pick up mushrooms first in the supermarket?
In case you don’t have mushroom left in your trolley……..
Sorrry! It my other halfs favourite and we often have a chuckle with the kiddos in the supermarket- rock and roll eh!!!
All of the prints are fab but ‘we can move mountains’ is my fav- thanks for the chance! Jo x
I very much like the We Can Move Mountains print…
My bad joke is very bad. Really. Bad.
Q – How do you get Picachu onto a bus?
A – Pokemon
I did warn you it was bad 🙂
These jokes are just what i need on a hungover Wednesday! Zoe you stole my favourite joke about the Shitzu. I have a good/bad cheese one to add to the others:
– What cheese would you use to conceal a small horse?
– Mascerpone
he he.
Love the prints, but especially the ‘blame it on the weatherman one’
Argh, you took my joke! I love that one 🙂
I think British English in general has so much humor in it, but there’s one joke I once heard on an airport and even though it’s a bit rude (I secretly like rude jokes ;-)) it’s the first thing that popped up:
What is a barrister on the bottom of the ocean?
A good start.
Have a lovely day!
I love the ‘Blame it on the Weatherman’ print!
My favourite joke was taken, so here’s another.
What’s the difference between roast beef and pea soup?
Anyone can roast beef.
“Did you hear about the accident at the Specsavers factory? A man fell into a vat of molten glass – he made a spectacle of himself!”
My boyfriends dad told me that one; when he started off I thought it was a real and true story and I thought how awful, until the punchline that is!
All of the prints are great, but I like the lovely pair one best.
Oh I’m so bad at remembering jokes! BUT I do like this one:
What kind of cheese to horses use as a disguise?
Mascarpone!
Hehehe.
My favourite joke is:
What’s the difference between a piano and a fish?
You can tune a piano, but you can’t tuna fish.
I like the Bish Bosh Bash print, sometimes when me or my husband make dinner we announce it’s ready by saying “Bish Bosh Bash”!
Q: What do you call a pig with ten eyes?
A: Piiiiiiiiiig !
Well it amuses me anyway.
I especially love the We can move mountains print. Lucy x
Ha! I’m having fun reading these jokes! Lovely giveaway, thanks! I love the Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining
print. And now for my fave joke:
Two snowmen are standing in a field. One says to the other : “Funny, I smell carrots too”.
Ha! X
“Doc, I can’t stop singing the green green grass of home.”
“That sounds like Tom Jones syndrome.”
“Is it common?”
“It’s not unusual.”
I love the bish bash bosh print, would look lovely in my office.
Hello!
All the prints are brill but I think I like the Hello Sunshine! one the most because it reminds me of the Super Furry Animals’ song, and would make me smile every time I saw it.
My favourite joke at the moment:
Q What do you call a monkey in a minefield?
A A baboom. (geddit? ba-boom!)
Thanks for the blog, lovely pieces, lovely photos x
This joke always make me smile on Mondays:
“My boss told me tell start the presentation with a joke… I scanned my payslip” 😀
Learn to laugh and the world brightens!
Love the “Hello Sunshine” print!
– Why did the Lion get lost?
– Because jungle is massive!
My favourite print is Bish Bash Bosh, it would clash delightfully with the landlady-enforced lilac walls of my bedroom and chase away these February blues (February is the Tuesday of months)!
Love the blog xxx
It’s a Vic and Bob one (hence the off-the-wall nature of it!):
Why has Edward Woodward got four ‘d’s’ in his name? Because otherwise he’d be Ewar Woowar.
It’s a favourite in our house 🙂
Favourite print is the We Can Move Mountains one. Definitely. But they are all so good!
That’s my husband’s favourite joke. That and why does Edward Woodward have 3 ‘w’s in his name? Because otherwise he’d be Edard Oodard.
Joke:
Q: Did you hear about the guy who was run over by a train?
A: HE WAS CHUFFED TO BITS!
Wacka, wacka.
I heart ‘Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining’.
Xx
I’m probably way too late for the competition.
But here’s my joke:
Two fish are swimming along one day when suddenly they hit a brick wall. What does one fish say to the other?
Oh, damn.
Ha, boom.
Incase I’m not too late – it’s got to be “we can move mountains”
I love the “We can move mountains” print. Too cute.. and so true 🙂
My favorite joke is:
Person 1: Knock Knock.
Person 2: Who’s there?
Person 1: Interrupting Cow.
Person 2: Interrupting Cow wh..
Person 1: MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Makes me giggle on a bluesy day 🙂
Love the blog and the YOKE prints, keep up the good work making people smile 🙂 x
Q: What is a Scottish cat’s favorite pudding?
A: Chocolate mousse!
My favourite print is ‘every cloud has a silver lining’. I need to remember this when in a huff…!
Love your blog and what a great giveaway.
Can’t believe my favourite hasn’t been said yet!
Why did the baker have brown hands?
Because he kneaded a jobby.
We Can Move Mountains is my favourite print (reminds me of one of my favourite shows, Twin Peaks).
My favourite joke is a series of farmer and tractor related humour. Ever since I was a child I have been sort of fascinated by this job…perhaps that explains these two (I couldn’t choose!)
Did you hear about the magic tractor?
It turned into a field.
Did you hear about the award winning scarecrow?
It was outstanding in its own field.
Apologies! I love ‘Blame it on the weatherman’ – for the vague 90s B*witched reference 😉
Gem xx
Well these jokes have really cheered up my morning.
I think the lovely pair print is my favourite but the weatherman runs a very close second.
My joke;
Did you hear about the magic tractor? He turned into to a field.
More amusing for us because when our friend first told us the joke he messed up the punch line and said “turned left into a field”
Oops just noticed I’ve got too many tos in my punch line. That joke must be jinxed.
What is invisible and smells like carrot ?
.
.
.
A rabbit’s fart !
”Blame the joke on the weatherman” !
I have been barking your friend’s Tuesday theory for months, definitely worse than Mondays!
My favourite is the we can move mountains print, but I love all of them!
Ok my joke is quite bad but very weather appropriate.
Two snow men standing in a field.
One says to the other can you smell carrots?
Doctor, doctor. I’ve come out in spots like cherries on a cake. Doctor: Ah, you must have analogy.
I love the Hello Sunshine print. Just what I need on a gloomy Monday (I disagree with your friend. There can’t possibly be any day worse than Monday).
I love the lovely pair print! And my favourite joke is:
How did the hipster burn his mouth?
He ate his pizza before it was cool.
BOOM!
I like the “What a Lovely Pair” print. It’s… err… lovely! 🙂
My favourite joke is:
A ship with a red paint cargo crashed into a ship with blue paint cargo. The sailors were all marooned!
Boom 🙂
And we have a winner!! The lovely folks at Yoke picked their favourite joke:
“Two monkeys are in the bath. One says ‘ooh ooh aah aah’. The other says ‘put a bit of cold in then!’”
Which means @domestikate gets a Yoke screen print of her choice 🙂 Well done!!
And thanks to everyone for entering… I’ve been absolutely loving reading your jokes!! xx
[…] won this brilliant We Are Yoke print in the super fun giveaway over at Conversation Pieces! What a lucky girl I am! I am so excited about finding the perfect place for it in my flat. […]
OMG I only know 2 jokes and that’s one of them. How random and I think Tuesday’s are the worst 😉
My other joke is Which is the most cool team in the hospital > the ultrasound team (Ba boom!)
Anyway my favourite is the these two birds print. They’s so cute and would go with the lovely yellow missprint wallpaper we’ve just put up x
whoops – missed the deadline. Hope you like my joke anyway.x
What did the toy store sign say? Don’t feed the animals. They are already stuffed.
I agree with the Tuesday thing, it is the toughest day, my favorite is Hello Sunshine and thanks for the smiles
I don’t know if the give-away is still open, but I’ll give you my favourite joke anyway (actually it’s one of the few I can remember, but hey ;))
A rabbit goes to the bakery one day and asks: do you have carrot cake? The baker says: I’m sorry, no I don’t.
The next day little rabbit goes to the bakery again and asks: do you have carrot cake? The baker says: I’m sorry sweet little rabbit, I don’t.
The day after that, the rabbit goes to the bakery and asks the same question, but the baker still doesn’t have carrot cake.
The next day the baker is standing in his bakery early in the morning and because he suspects a visit from the little rabbit again, he decides to bake a carrot cake. And low and behold, the rabbit pays the bakery another visit and asks his question again: baker, do you have carrot cake. The baker says: o yes I do! The rabbit says: don’t you hate how that tastes? 😉
And if the give-away is still going on: my favorite print (although it was a very hard decision..) is the ‘We can move mountains’-one!
