It might have be sleeting, raining and a bit brrrr outside
but it was most definitely Springtime at my flat this weekend.
With daffies, my bunny vase, a ‘Hello Flower’
postcard from Lou and of course an Easter chick (or two)…
My postcard from Lizzy Stewart seemed very appropriate
considering I had melted a chocolate egg already.
(By leaving it too near to a window!)
And feeling Springy… I dug out these vintage napkins
I got in Norway. Hooray indeed!
And got out our charity shop find table cloth…
even if it does make the kitchen super super girlie!
Most importantly, I found our box of Easter chicks…
though I wasn’t the only one who found them!
Then we were all set for some Easter fun…
First up, some Easter giggles with my Papa.
See that super happy, super dapper groom?
That’s my Papa. One of the coolest people I know.
We chatted about flat caps, the latest movies
and where to get the best chips in town.
Then… some Easter fun with my gorgeous little sis
who was back in Scotland for a wee break
before she starts rehearsals for her new play.
This meant mini eggs and heart-shaped pancakes for breakfast…
Blowing Easter bubbles… and discovering that cats
(well the grey one) really like attacking said bubbles!
All culminating in some Easter silliness…
involving a chick, the army men who live in our plants
and a rescue mission called Operation Letter Box!
************
There was also lots of gin and rose lemonade,
the best veggie hot dogs ever, homemade pizza,
old movies, a spot of DIY, an epic hangover…
yip Easter is the new Christmas!
************
So, what about you all… are you feeling Springy?
Think I feel more like Spring being inside than outside!
That rabbit vase is adorabs and the stag against your flowery wallpaper! I feel more like Spring after seeing all this colour!!
Your sister’s dress is AMAZING!! Chuckling at your cat eating that chicken, must be lifelike!!
I love the chicks! We have quite a few still knocking about here. I too have been making some lovely lou postcard purchases!

We still have loads everywhere… found a little mushed looking one in the hoover the other day too! Yay for more Lou postcards ๐
Oh goodness I absolutely love your bright yellow door! We are about to get our front door replaced and I have become such a door bore! I am getting a bit obsessed with the idea of painting the new one bright yellow, and now everywhere I look I keep seeing bright yellow doors jumping out at me!

Too many exclamation marks sorry! Just had too much coffee I think and am obviously a bit over-excited about yellow doors!

He he, no worries Kate! I still get excited when I see yellow doors and I have one! You should totally go for it โ it’s very cheery to come home to. (Though I’ve been toying with painting ours pink… keep seeing pink doors everywhere too!) ๐

I love the dish the mini eggs are in.
Have you ever tried catnip bubble mix? They sell it in Pets at Home (and no doubt other places) and our cats LOVE it.

We tried it once Sarah… they were actually terrified of it but they were little kittens at the time so it might have been too much! Maybe worth trying again… x
Love these images! I’m a sucker for a little chick… and an easter egg! xxx
Brilliant! So many great ideas that I think I’ll need to save this post in my fav’s and bring it out next Easter.Rx

You crack me up.
I wish I still lived in Edinburgh and then I could meet you for coffee someday. But alas! I’m in Australia, so no such luck.
You make me miss The Burgh (and want to visit your flat).

That is a weekend and a half Z. Hahaha, I love your cats’ Easter shenanigans.
Evie looks every inch the 50s film star in that picture!
I hope you still ate the chocolate egg…

Looks like you had a great easter weekend–particularly like the easter silliness, so funny!
And I am not feeling that spring like–the sun needs to put its hat on and force all the grey clouds away.

Oh great photos – extent of my Easter efforts this year was hot-glueing those chicks to straw cowboy hats for the boys, it’s a complete travesty but I’ve not eaten a single hot cross bun and I didn’t make a simnel cake either. Rubbish. I did have a great time in Edinburgh though – we just got back. It’s so friendly and I love a city you can walk around easily.

Glad you had such a good time in Edinburgh Lakota ๐ Actually think I only had one hot cross bun (and have never had simnel cake!)… but I’m loving the sound of gluing chicks to cowboy hats! Hilarious! ๐ x
I love your sisters dress (and where on earth is that amazing wall?!). Also love the heart shaped pancakes – super cute. Just when I thought regular pancakes couldn’t be improve upon. Do you have a heart shaped mould or heart shaped pan? x C

Hey Charlotte… it’s the wall of a painted shed in London! ๐ Heart shaped pancakes… we just used a cookie cutter. (Think I use my cookie cutters for everything but cookies!) ๐ x
So many lovely pictures here! Very bright and spring like! I love the table cloth – my Mum recently gave me one that is very similar that my Grandma did. Pretty different to the type of embroidery I do now! ๐
